Dear Parents,

We hope you and your families continue to stay safe and are looking forward to a beautiful Shavuos. As we continue to monitor the situation, we have seen some encouraging updates that increase the chances that camp will open this summer.

Pennsylvania has developed three phases for the reopening of the state with different levels of  Covid-19 restrictions. Each county starts off in the “red phase”, which is the most restrictive, and then moves to the “yellow phase”, and then to the “green phase”. Wayne County, in which Camp Bonim is located, was moved today into the “yellow phase”. Governor Wolf requires overnight camps to wait for the “green phase” before reopening. From observing other counties, it appears that it may only take a few weeks for counties to move from the yellow phase to the green phase. While the green phase does still require safety precautions, if Wayne County moves to the green phase before the start of camp, we will be able to open legally and safely.

The CDC has developed safety guidelines for the operation of camps this summer, and Pennsylvania has added some of its own requirements to this. We will of course follow safety guidelines. As per protocol, a Camp Bonim safety plan will be posted to our website prior to our opening.

At this point we are continuing to accept registration without requiring a deposit. All payment requirements are still postponed until we have a final answer on the status of camp this summer.

As we have requested previously, those who have already registered should please send in your boys’ medical forms; this includes page 1 to be filled out by a parent including insurance cards as well as the doctor’s form including immunization records. Blank medical forms can be found at https://www.campbonim.net/forms. All forms should be scanned and emailed to crosen@campbonim.com. If you do not have access to a scanner, you can take a picture and email it; please make sure to get the entire page into the picture and ensure that it is clear.

If your son takes medication, please download and submit your drug form to J Drugs right away. All forms will be held until the status of camp this summer is finalized.

Please order the new camp t-shirt at https://www.packforcamp.com/bonim. You can also order other camp apparel at this link.

We will continue to keep you informed as more information comes in.
